Jane's Walk is a global phenomenon

Jane's Walk has expanded rapidly in all directions, more than doubling in size each year since it first started in Toronto in 2007. This year we are expecting Jane's Walk to be held in 65 cities worldwide (35 in Canada, 25 in the USA) with a total of 450 walking tours on offer. We've heard from lots of the veteran Jane's Walk cities across North American who say they're keen to take the plunge again and we've also had contact with some new prospects in such places as Dublin, Peterborough, Kamloops, Chile and Los Angeles.

Jane's Walk invites city-dwellers to get out of their cars and get connected, to strike up a conversation, and keep it going after the walk over a coffee, on the sidewalk, or sharing a seat on transit. Jane's Walks are given and taken for free.

Jane's Walk has quickly become a powerful and adaptable vehicle for bringing people together to express their hopes and insights for livable and resilient places to live and work. As one organizer enthused "Jane's Walk is an interesting, easy and effective engagement tool - simple ask, no cost, big response from community. People were thrilled that hundreds of others were taking part in the walks across Canada."
